Course Overview

Fall protection training prepares workers to safely work at heights using the full hierarchy of controls — from guardrails and travel restraint to fall arrest. The course aligns with Alberta OHS Code Part 9 (Fall Protection), combining classroom theory with hands-on harness fitting, equipment inspection, and rescue planning. In Alberta, a fall protection plan and training are required wherever a worker may fall 3 metres or more.

Common Questions

Fall protection
training FAQs

How long does fall protection training take?
Our on-site fall protection course runs about a half-day. In-person classroom-plus-practical training is typically 6–8 hours; we confirm timing by crew size when you book.
How much does fall protection training cost?
$150 per person. On-site group bookings, fall-rescue add-ons, and Train-the-Trainer programs are quoted per project — request a quote with your crew size and location.
Is fall protection training legally required in Alberta?
Yes. Alberta OHS Code Part 9 requires a fall protection plan and trained workers wherever someone may fall 3 metres or more (and in some lower-height situations with added risk). Employers must ensure workers are trained before fall protection systems are used.
What does the fall protection course cover?
The full hierarchy of fall controls: harness types, fit and inspection; anchor selection; travel restraint and fall arrest; free-fall, total fall distance and clearance; and fall-rescue planning.
How long is fall protection certification valid?
Three years, in line with standard Canadian practice. On expiry, workers complete the full course again rather than a short online refresher.
Do you provide fall protection training on-site, and where?
Yes — on-site at your facility across Alberta (including Calgary, Edmonton, and Red Deer), British Columbia, and throughout Western Canada, so your crew trains on the structures they actually work from.
